Tips and Tricks for Ozora Festvial

THURSDAY, JULY 18, 2019

To make your time in this mystical land complete, the most important task is keeping no task at all.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AN ENTIRE WEEK

AN ENTIRE WEEK

You can only buy a weeklong ticket to the festival, so the most important thing to remember like any festival - it’s a marathon and not a sprint. It will rain at least once, turning your campsite and the entire festival into a muddy, fun mess. Pay attention to which of the different camping options suit your needs- there is a silent camp farther away from the main areas, as well as campsites directly next to the main stage. Be ready for 24/7 high BPM GOA partying here, though.

Keep on top of your health throughout the week so the weather or your deteriorating state won’t send you home. Plan your time at Ozora accordingly - the train from Budapest on the first day can get ridiculously overcrowded and uncomfortable. Last year the train broke down 3 times on the way…and it took ages to get to the festival. Leave early to avoid the rush, because you may miss the opening ceremony! You can also set up camp before the festival begins - the campsites open early to help avoid this intense traffic incoming from Budapest travellers

GO BAREFOOT

GO BAREFOOT

Instead of getting your shoes muddy when it rains, you can enjoy the gooey feel on your barefooted toes. You can do the entire festival barefoot if you so choose, there is barely any waste anywhere because of a common respect all Ozorians share. That refreshing minimalism us backpackers love. The best part of doing the festival barefoot is feeling all the different terrains beneath your feet- from mud to clay, to sand to dirt, each terrain offers something different for dancing or walking.

THE ABYSS

THE ABYSS

Anytime you need to escape, wander down past the pond into the Abyss with the mellow sounds of steel drums and didgeridoos. There are plenty of soft lily pad beds to lie upon. Perfect for an afternoon nap before the nightlife gets going.

EXPLORE THE PARADISE PLAYGROUND - WITHOUT LIMITS

EXPLORE THE PARADISE PLAYGROUND - WITHOUT LIMITS

Stumble through the forests at midnight as a black widow spider in black light cobwebs, and run further into a bubble with microscopes to inspect anything you find lying around in nature. From minerals to the cells of leaves, your inner child explores the precise interweaving lines that form together to create the art and beauty we call nature. This authentic experience with our human roots brings us a peace, far away from the materialistic goal oriented society we live in, truly making Ozora the land of paradise and adult playground travellers and backpackers around the world to escape to. Or stumble into one of the phone booths laying about randomly in the forest- only to look down and discover you are on Facebook live stream camera with whatever shenanigans you have just done!

DAY TIME ACTIVITIES

DAY TIME ACTIVITIES

You can decide which daytime activities will spark your interest - yoga, hemp jewelry making, gardening, or sit in on discussions about psychedelic medicine or overcoming your worst spiritual awakenings. There is even a local blacksmith you can watch as they create their craft or hop in and learn along with them. There are countless of other art exhibits, psy-hair, face painting and climbing through adult tree houses to keep you busy throughout the day.

COOKING GROVE

COOKING GROVE

The cooking grove is one of the truly unique highlights that Ozora has to offer. Groups from all around the world gather here at any time of night or day to cook their authentic meals. You can find all sorts of worldly tastes and flavors here, and most people are willing to either share their creation or trade a bite. The cooking grove has its own etiquette to share and trade with other travellers - especially if you have left over food or ingredients, it should not go wasted. There is a local fruit and vegetable shop onsite at Ozora, so there’s a constant flow of new fresh things to cook and eat. If you can’t bring any cooking supplies with you to the festival, you can still use the cooking grove. People leave pots, pans, and other utensils to share by the cooking grove sink, and at anytime you can grab what you need.

SECRET JAM SESH

SECRET JAM SESH

If you start exploring away from the main stages, there are countless smaller jam sessions occurring at all times all over the festival.

A CLEANSE

A CLEANSE

Or perhaps check out the tea house - where you can choose any of the herbal blends for your healing and relaxation throughout the day, just return the mugs! This is where the truly cleansing part of Ozora comes about- there is no need for makeup or wearing clothes that aren’t comfortable. And unlike many other music festivals, Ozora is both kid and pet friendly.

VENDORS

VENDORS

Make sure to check out the food vendors to taste anything from meaty lasagna to vegan curry. Or to find jewelry made from utmost delicacy around the world, and countless other clothing options. It’s the perfect place to grab something tangible to remember the festival by!
