The sun is out and the days are getting longer so why not make to most of your day while visiting the beautiful city of Budapest. Springtime is in full swing and just like the flowers and trees the city is blossoming back to life. At night it is your time to hit the town and party hard, so let's spend the day with some activities that will allow you to relax, recover and see some beautiful sites that the city has to offer.
Let us take a look at a few ideas that will get you outside in the fresh air and moving a bit to help you recharge and some photos to show your friends and family nightlife was not the only thing you experienced while in Budapest!
This is a simple one but sometimes the best things are. No matter if you pick to take your stroll on the Buda of the Pest side of the Danube you will be in for a picturesque walk through the city. On the Buda side, you can check out the “Shoes on the Danube” memorial, or from either side, you can get beautiful sites of landmarks like the Castel, Parliament, the bridges, and many more! Even better if you take our walk on the weekend the city has the street on the Pest side next to the danube closed off to cars you you cna walk or bike down it!
Spending a day at the park can lead you to endless opportunities. The best two parks to spend your day in the city would be Varosliget or head to Margitsziget, each offering their own unique highlights that make it worth strolling threw. And bonus both parks have some nice place you can stop to enjoy food and drinks!
Margitsziget
Here you have plenty you can explore on this island or you can simply find a nice spot to just sit and hangout. Although we have few suggestion to do and try while on the island first being explore the fairly large island in one of the funky vehicle options they have for rent at the entrance to the park. In spring especially when the flowers are in bloom you can find the beautiful Rose Garden and the Japanses Garden both are very beautiful yet very different making it worth your while to talk a walk through both. From the musical fontain to a few ruin buildings and more this island can keep you busy all day long!
Varosliget
Here at the other big park in the city you will also find some well worth site to walk through and visit. The list fo sites to see here and go on from Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden, Jaki Chapel, Hero’s Square, Vajdahunyad Castel, several museums and more. This park is sure to have something of interest for everyone.
This is the perfect place to go and take a little walk, get a few photos and take in the views all while staying close within the city. All three of these are conveniently located right by eachother making it an easy all in one stop. From the beautiful view, perfect photo backdrops and explore the history and beauty of the three stops its sure to be something you will never forget! At Fisherman’s Bastion you can even pay about 3 euro and go up to the upper platform, this area is typically more empty making for a better view and photo backdrop.
At the top of Gelért Hill you will find the fortress know as Citadella this is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can find it over in the 11th district but it can be spotted fromacross most fo Budapest. This is a perfect little get away from the busy city, but be warned there in a bit of a hike involved to get there, tho its reasonable manageabl for most everyone. Once up there you cna go take a stroll throught the Philospers’ Garden and take a look at the statues there of the Picne of Buda and the Preincess of Pest. This is also a great spot to stop sit, hangout and enjoy with friends.
Hopfully you will make the most of your trip and take some time during the day to recharge and see what this city has to offer outside of our famous party district!
