If you are looking for things to do in Budapest, look no further than Citymatiné! These festival-like events have been running throughout the summer since 2012 and are known for their incredible taste in decor and casting some of Budapest’s best house and techno Djs. These guys are all about location, location, location! Every second week the party takes place in a different outdoor location, in and around the city (if you’re lucky there might be a pool). On top of that, every Citymatiné has a different theme! Past themes include pirates, medieval, hippy, vikings and “Attack of the Clowns” to name a few. Whether it be in the courtyard of the palace or the hills of the Buda-side, you’ll be sure to be dancing to their world class Funktion-One sound system, beer in hand and house in mind.

DAYLITE GARDEN

These guys really showcase the best of both worlds. Arrive early in the day and you will be greeted with the chilled vibe of deep house and locals sipping on drinks in the sun. Arrive at night and you'll hear throbbing techno. Daylite Garden have debuted in numerous locations around the party district of Budapest, including Corvin Club and the notorious Fogas, but the original and classic form of the party is held at none other than Dob Utca's ruin pub, Ellato Haz. Here you will see the Daylite Garden we were introduced to; a bunch of friends who love music and love the day rave.

CRUISIN

Time for a boat party! Cruisin is held on the amazing Európa Event Ship during the summer, taking you on an awe inspiring party cruise down the famous Danube river. Cruisin has been running since 2003 and have a variety of local and international Djs playing on the top deck of this massive cruise boat. Like most of the outdoor parties mentioned in this article, Cruisin’s crowd is predominantly local with only a few backpackers attending, so if you are looking for a more local experience in Budapest, this event is definitely for you! (Buy your tickets ahead of time everyone, it often sells out weeks before!)

POOL & BEER (CANCELLED)

Who’s up for a swim? Pool&Beer tends to be one of the more chilled out daytime events held in the city, and is backpacker, local and children friendly! Have a swim and release your inner child with the inflatable lobsters and dolphins while once again, bouncing in the water to the sound of house music. Pool&Beer creates a great environment for a picnic with your friends, lined with food trucks and a poolside bar if you’re thirsting for a beer! You can really make a full day of this event and is a PartyBookers favorite for the summer time. For those of you who don’t think Sparty is for you, but still want to get your feet wet, check out Pool&Beer, you might even see us there!

SUNSET DRIFT

Coming in the summer of 2018 is our very own Sunset Drift - daytime party cruise! Budapest Boat Party has been running boat parties for backpackers and party hostel goers since 2011. Parties in particular include Shipwrecked Boat Party, River Rampage and Danube Massive. Unlike our other parties, Sunset Drift will be less of a raging all-you-can-drink playground for alcoholics, and more of a breezy afternoon in the sun with a BBQ lunch and tropical house music. You can expect cocktail buckets, free sunscreen, glitter, bubbles and more surprises along the way. This relaxed party boat will drift past all the amazing sites of Budapest, including Parliament House, Fisherman’s Bastion, the Buda Castle and the Citadel. Who needs a walking tour when you can do it all on a boat with us! So bring your sunnies, bring your party shirts and bring your asses down to Sunset Drift this summer for an unforgettable afternoon with Budapest Boat Party.

Budapest is home to a lot of wild events out in the sun. It's one of our favorite ways to spend the summer days out here in the vibrant capital of Hungary. Even if you are not a massive fan of house or techno, these parties welcome all and are fun for all. So enough is enough, summer is coming, have you booked your ticket yet?
